As a proponent of slow fashion and sustainability, Plain to the Ridge is a strong supporter of free/accessible education around our cultural level of consumption, and aims to prompote self-sufficiency. The more people who know how to hem a dress or put a patch on some worn pants, the less waste headed towards the landfill. Beyond conscious consumption and skill sharing, sewing is an art and a wonderful way to connect!
Lillian of Plain to the Ridge is a contributor of Project49, a space built by artists and volunteers that provides free, alternative art and education spaces for kids and families. Additionally, the space acts as a residence zone for many local creatives and their work. If you are interested in being part of Project49's mission, please see the link above.
